Medical Oncology is the specialty within the field of oncology that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer by chemotherapy, hormone therapy & immuno therapy. The doctor in Medical Oncology is primarily responsible for prescribing and implementing treatment along with diagnosing and treating complications unique to cancer and coordinating the total treatment plan for cancer patients. Consultation with radiation oncologist and surgeons is frequent so that chemotherapy can be combined with these modalities when it can offer the best outcome. The department has the facility for indoor, outdoor patient management and day care services.
Chemotherapy: Comprehensive chemotherapy services for both early and advanced-stage cancer patients.
Hormone Therapy: Treatment for hormone-sensitive cancers such as breast and prostate cancer.
Immunotherapy: Advanced therapy that strengthens the body’s immune system to fight cancer cells.
Indoor Patient Care: Continuous monitoring and treatment for admitted cancer patients.
Outpatient Services: Regular consultations, follow-up care, and treatment planning for outpatients.
Day Care Services: Facility for administering chemotherapy and supportive treatments without hospital admission.
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Close collaboration with Radiation Oncology and Surgical Oncology departments to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
Management of Cancer-Related Complications: Specialized care for side effects and complications arising from cancer or its treatment.
