Getting admitted to the NICRH is generally a challenging task because thousands of patients from across the country visit daily for treatment. However, the hospital has only 500 authorized beds. Due to allocation for various departments, including male, female, child, and paying-non-paying patients, each department can accommodate only a limited number of patients. Additionally, the average hospital stay for cancer patients is quite long, approximately 11 days. However, considering the patients' distress, the doctors, nurses, and other staff members at the hospital have made personal efforts and financial contributions to establish a daycare chemotherapy system. Through this initiative, more than 275 patients are treated daily under Medical Oncology, and more than 100 patients under Radiation Oncology, without requiring admission. In a country with limited resources, the effectiveness of this model is well-known to those who have received services here.
