Brief Description:
The Palliative Care Unit of NICRH provides holistic care to patients suffering
from life-limiting and terminal illnesses, emphasizing symptom management,
psychological support, and dignity in care. The unit ensures comprehensive
management for both patients and families through multidisciplinary
collaboration.
History &
Establishment:
Established in 2018 as part of NICRH’s expanded oncology services, the unit has
grown significantly, integrating both inpatient and outpatient care facilities.
It collaborates with NGOs and international partners to enhance access to
quality end-of-life care.
OPD Services: Outpatient palliative consultations and follow-up. Available Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 AM–1:30 PM. Appointment required.
Inpatient Care: Bed-based palliative management for terminally ill patients. Available 24/7. Appointment required (referral-based).
Psychological Counselling: Support for patients and families coping with cancer and grief. Available Sunday–Wednesday. No appointment required.
Pain Management Clinic: Specialized clinic for chronic and cancer pain. Available Tuesday and Thursday. Appointment required.
